Revamped Music app – iOS 8.4 introduces a new look for the Music app with a revamped design that shows pictures of artists in the Artists view and offers personalized playlists. It also offers a new MiniPlayer, a redesigned look for “Now Playing,” global search capabilities that make it easier to search from anywhere within the Music app, and access to the new on-demand streaming music service and Beats 1 radio.
Home Sharing – iOS 8.4 removes the ability to use Home Sharing for music on iOS devices.
Music search – The Music app gained a global search feature in iOS 8.4, letting users search for music and iTunes radio content from anywhere in the app. In the second beta, the Music app’s search feature gained a list of trending searches to help users discover new music.
Audiobooks – In iOS 8.4, audiobooks have been moved from the Music app into the iBooks app, consolidating all books, print and audio, into one spot. The new audiobooks section in iBooks lets audiobook listeners access individual chapters and rewind and fast forward with new controls.
Audiobooks for CarPlay – With audiobooks being uncoupled from the Music app, Apple has introduced a new standalone Audiobooks app for CarPlay, giving drivers a way to listen to their books in their cars without using the Music app
